Admission to the second cycle at the Higher School of Saharan Agriculture in El Oued is reserved for passionate and talented students who have successfully completed two years of education in the preparatory classes in natural and life sciences (NSV) and who have been admitted to the entrance examination of our school within the limit of the available pedagogical places.
The Higher School of Saharan Agriculture in El Oued offers a high-level and excellent training in line with the needs of the country, the agricultural sector and the companies. It has contacted the socio-economic sectors to develop innovative educational programs so that the trained engineers are directly operational in companies.

The training team offers three specialities related to sustainable agriculture and meeting the needs of the country and the region:
1. Plant Protection
This speciality aims to train agricultural engineers capable of:
- Preventing phytosanitary risks in oases,
- Identifying and diagnosing diseases and pests of plants and Saharan crops (dates, figs, etc.),
- Developing sustainable and environmentally friendly plant protection strategies adapted to arid climatic conditions,
- Managing phytosanitary risks,
- Advising farmers on relevant and respectful crop practices,
- and most importantly, fighting against diseases and pests of crops that threaten food security.
2. Animal Production
This speciality aims to train agricultural engineers capable of:
- Mastering and improving livestock farming techniques in Saharan regions,
- Developing sustainable and arid-adapted livestock systems,
- Ensuring the health and welfare of animals,
- Managing animal production in a sustainable way,
- Developing quality animal products: meat, milk and others,
- and valorising local pastoral resources.
3. Food Technology
This speciality aims to train agricultural engineers capable of:
- Mastering the processing of local food products, such as dates, figs and milk,
- Exploring their potential to create innovative products adapted to the needs of local populations,
- Becoming a food safety expert and guaranteeing the quality and traceability of food products, thus contributing to the health and well-being of populations,
- Developing your management skills and preparing yourself to lead the agri-food industries of tomorrow, by meeting the challenges of sustainability and competitiveness.
These three specialities are of major interest for the development of the Saharan regions. They can contribute to:
