Afternoon Session – Day One of the Second National Workshop on Desert Agriculture: Integrating Plant Protection with Soil and Water Sustainability Challenges
The afternoon session of the first day of the workshop included a field visit to one of the farms in El Oued Province. During this visit, fourth-year students, specializing in Plant Protection Engineering at the Higher School of Saharan Agriculture in El Oued, benefited from detailed explanations provided by Mr. Abdel Sattar CHERIF, Senior Agricultural Engineer at the Directorate of Agricultural Services of El Oued Province, and Professor Kamal BEN SALAH from the Scientific and Technical Research Center for Arid Regions (CRSTRA) in Biskra, focusing on pests affecting date palms.
The field visit, attended by faculty members of the School, also provided an opportunity to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience, allowing students to directly apply some of the concepts learned during classroom and workshop sessions.
