Day Two – Second National Workshop on Desert Agriculture: Integrating Plant Protection with Soil and Water Sustainability Challenges
On 09 December 2025, the second day of the workshop focused on two insightful lectures delivered by leading experts in the field. The first lecture was delivered by Professor Kamal BEN SALAH from the Scientific and Technical Research Center for Arid Regions (CRSTRA) in Biskra, entitled: “Plant Protection: Ensuring Healthy Crops for Food Security and Sustainable Development.” The second lecture was presented by Professor Larbi HADDAD from the University of El Oued, on the topic: “Polluted Water in Desert Agriculture: Challenges, Impacts, and Sustainable Management Strategies.” Following the two lectures, a question-and-answer session and open discussion were held, after which the Director of the School delivered a closing speech, thanking everyone for their contributions to the benefit of the students. After lunch, a ceremony was held to honor all individuals who contributed to the success of the second edition of the National Workshop.
