Opening Ceremony of the 2025-2026 Academic Year at the Higher School of Saharan Agriculture

On Monday, September 22nd, 2025, the minister of Higher Education and scientific Research, Professor Dr. Kamal BEDDARI, officially inaugurated the 2025-2026 academic year in a national ceremony held at Ahmed Ben Yahia El- Wancharissi University in Tissemsilt and was conducted via videoconference technology, allowing for the simultaneous participation of all higher education institutions nationwide.

On this occasion, His Excellency the minister delivered a keynote address entitled " The Role and Position of Higher Education in the Transition Toward an Emerging Economy ", in which he emphasized the strategic importance of the higher education sector in fostering national development. The conclusion of his address marked the formal launch of the new academic year.

At the local level, the Higher School of Saharan Agriculture in El- Oued hosted its own academic community, including administrators, faculty members, staff, and students, all gathered to mark the beginning of the 2025-2026 academic year in a spirit of collective engagement and institutional commitment.
Following the welcome speech delivered by the Secretary General of the school, Mr. Mokhtar BEN HALIMA, the Director, Professor Elhabib GUEDDA presented a historical overview of the institution and the objectives behind its establishment. Subsequently, the Assistant Director for Scientific Research, Dr. Ibrahim El-Khalil BAHMANE delivered an address entitled "Patriotism in Academic Conduct", in which he explored the values of national belonging and their expression within the university environment.

In the following presentation, the Director spoke on " The Economic Role of the Higher School of Saharan Agriculture in El-Oued", highlighting the institution's relevance given its location in a region renowned for its excellence in the agricultural sector.
In conclusion, the floor was given to the Assistant Director for Pedagogy, Professor Soufiane SEGGAI, who emphasized the distinctive character of higher schools, the quality of education they provide, and the pivotal role of knowledge in ensuring agricultural excellence and its sustainability.
