Workshops of the Second Study Days on Saharan Agriculture: Student–Farmer Encounter
n the evening of the first day of the event (03 December 2025), two workshops were organized. The first workshop focused on plant health and was chaired by field expert Mr. Abdel Sattar Cherif, a prominent figure in the agricultural sector of El Oued Province. The workshop brought together experts, farmers, and students, and was marked by an extensive and in-depth discussion. The main points of the debate were summarized by the workshop rapporteurs, who are faculty members of the school.
The second workshop was dedicated to animal production and also witnessed positive and active engagement. It was facilitated by field specialists Mr. Khalifa Serouti and Mr. Boughezala, whose practical expertise enriched the discussion.
It is worth noting that the primary objective of both workshops was to identify as many field-related challenges as possible and to organize them into clearly defined thematic groups.
The afternoon session concluded with a ceremony honoring several key contributors who played an essential role in the success of the workshops.
