Participation in a Regional Awareness Programme on Transparency and Anti-Corruption
Representatives of the Higher School of Saharan Agriculture took part in a three-day awareness and training programme on transparency, corruption prevention, and anti-corruption practices, held from 9 to 11 May 2026. The initiative was launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the participation of the High Authority for Transparency, Prevention and Fight against Corruption, and organized in cooperation with Amar Telidji University of Laghouat.
The programme brought together representatives from higher education institutions across eastern Algeria and served as a platform for promoting awareness of integrity, transparency, and good governance within the university sector.
The Higher School of Saharan Agriculture was represented by Professor Elhabib GUEDDA, Director of the School; Mr. Mokhtar BEN HALIMA, Secretary General; Dr. BEHMENE Ibrahim El Khalil, Deputy Director in Charge of Scientific Research; in addition to department heads, faculty members, administrative staff, and students.
The sessions provided participants with an opportunity to examine and discuss a range of issues related to public procurement procedures, while highlighting the importance of strengthening transparency, promoting ethical practices, and enhancing mechanisms for preventing and combating corruption. Discussions also underscored the role of these principles in supporting good governance and safeguarding the public interest.
The programme further encouraged dialogue and the exchange of perspectives on fostering a culture of integrity and accountability within higher education institutions, reinforcing their contribution to sustainable institutional development.
